Stopgap Red Bag Water Mix Self-smoothing Underlayment

Stopgap Red Bag is a water mix smoothing compound designed for areas with light to medium foot and wheeled traffic and can be used over normal underfloor heating installations. normal application is between of 3mm and 6mm unfilled and it can be smoothed to a feathered edge finish.

Stopgap red bag is designed for application over concrete, sand/cement screeds and other solid absorbent surfaces.

A 25kg bag of stopgap red bag powder mixed with 5.0 litres of clean water will cover approximately 4.8m² at a thickness of 3mm

Mixing

Standard mix – Add 5 litres of clean water into a mixing bucket and gradually add all the powder whilst stirring with a power whisk fitted in an electric drill until a smooth creamy lump free consistency is achieved. The material should be mixed for a minimum of 2 minutes.

Filled Mix – Add 12.5kg of stopgap graded aggregate to the prepared standard mix. It is advisable to reduce the level of water to prevent separation of the mix.

Do not exceed 5.0 litres of water per 25kg bag.

Area Coverage Per Unit

When mixed with 5 litres of clean water.

4.8m² at a thickness of 3mm

2.4m² at a thickness of 6mm

1.9m² at a thickness of 10mm (Aggregate filled)

Note: Coverage rates will depend on the condition and
absorbency of the subfloor.

Priming

It is essential to prime all surfaces.

Absorbent surfaces – Prime with diluted stopgap P131 to prevent rapid drying of the underlayment.
